The Round Tower is situated on top of the motte in the Middle Ward of the royal residence, Windsor Castle. It is one of the most photographed buildings in Windsor. Visitors to the castle can now climb to the top of the Round Tower, one of the nation’s iconic landmarks. On a new guided tour - Conquer the Tower - they ascend 200 steps to a height of 65.5 metres above the River Thames, where they can enjoy breathtaking views of the Castle and Windsor Great Park, the Thames Valley and the London skyline. The sloped garden in front of the Round Tower is not open to the public and is known to be enjoyed by the Queen when the castle isn't open to the public.
