Originally from the South of England, I now live in Co. Wicklow and work in Dublin. I started my career in advertising in London before moving to Dublin in 1979; the intended six months stay is now well into its fourth decade.
After working in several advertising agencies, I was a freelance graphic designer and illustrator before leaving the commercial sector altogether. I now express myself visually through photography.
Although burning has traditionally been used as a management tool to keep land open, it can have adverse environmental impacts. Aside from the impact on birds and wildlife, the land can be eroded by heavy rainfall on soils exposed by these fires.
