Originally from the South of England, I now live in Co. Wicklow and work in Dublin. I started my career in advertising in London before moving to Dublin in 1979; the intended six months stay is now well into its fourth decade.
After working in several advertising agencies, I was a freelance graphic designer and illustrator before leaving the commercial sector altogether. I now express myself visually through photography.
Witness to waves of invasions and departures, since pre-Christian Druids first built a standing stone circle here, through the Viking and Norman ages, to the flight of the "Wild Geese" and up to more recent times. The old name Boulek is said to derive from the Scandinavian for "Blue Haven" and again from the Gaelic word for a tidal blow hole which existed in the rocks. The stone texture is a mute witness to waves of history, scarred but immortal.
