Born and based in Galway. I've a taste for solitude and adventure (mountaineering and cycle touring), and can often be found (or, not found) in Ireland's wilder places... and further afield. I've an architectural background, an inquisitive mind, and an appetite for the unusual.
A lazy morning on Rue de la Bûcherie. Shakespeare and Company, a Paris institution since 1951, was named in honour of Sylvia Beach's original bookshop, which opened its doors in 1919 and closed during the occupation of France in World War II.
